Watch love grow. It’s blooming right here in Buffalo! Hearts in Bloom delivers flowers and gift bags to widows and widowers on Valentine’s Day. We are completely supported by donations and volunteers from all over Western New York.

In the quiet spaces where love still lingers, we bloom. We want to honor the enduring power of love by delivering flowers and heartfelt gifts to widows and widowers each Valentine’s Day. Through small acts of kindness, we aim to lift spirits, celebrate lasting love, and remind the thousands who grieve that they are seen, supported, and are never forgotten.

Help us deliver love one name at a time

Help us remind widows and widowers that they are not alone! Submit the name of someone who could use a thoughtful surprise. Due to a limited number of recipients, our team will review your submission with care. We’ll be in touch if we need any additional details, and we’ll work to connect the recipient to a special Valentine’s Day delivery. Please check back in January 2026 to submit a name for a delivery.

behind Hearts in Bloom

Catherine Szabad founded Hearts in Bloom Buffalo out of compassion for those who have lost their life partner. The kindness and generosity behind the idea moved her—especially the thought of doing something special for someone who has lost their life partner. That simple yet powerful gesture sparked a mission: to bring beauty, comfort, and care to those experiencing loss right here in Buffalo.
